In 1997, the State of Wisconsin enacted the Sex Offender Registration
Community Notification Law. This law was created to monitor and track people convicted of
sex crimes and to provide access to this information for police, victims and the general public.
The web site, maintained by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections,
allows you to view a list of sex offenders
by either entering your zip code, or by entering a portion of the offender's name.
