If you are a Wisconsin resident, you can identify yourself as someone who does not wish to receive telemarketing calls by signing up on the Wisconsin No Call List, which took effect on January 1, 2003.
It's free and available for residential telephone customers in Wisconsin.
Your number will remain on the list for two years. Adding your residential phone number to the List will help reduce (but not eliminate) telemarketing calls to your home.
You can sign up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by telephone or internet. To sign up by telephone, call toll-free (866) 9-NOCALL or (866) 966-2255. To sign up right now on the internet, follow the instructions on the Consumer Registration page.
Additional information is available on the Wisconsin No Call List web page.
National Do Not Call Registry:
In June 2003, the Federal Trade Commission implemented a similar national 'do not call' list, which took effect on October 1, 2003.
To add your phone number to this list, call (888) 382-1222.
Or you can register your phone numbers right here online at the National Do Not Call Registry web site.
